The University of Arizona's basketball program came to national prominence during the Lute Olson era.  From 1983 to 2008, Olson led the Wildcats to 4 Final Four appearances including 2 trips to the National Championship Game.  In 1997 his team defeated Kentucky in overtime to secure the school's first National Championship.  

In his time at Arizona Olson won 11 Pac-10 regular season championships and 4 Pac- 10 tournament championships.  He also coached his fair share of college basketball legends.  From Steve Kerr to Damon Stoudamire to Mike Bibby and Gilbert Arenas.  They all came to Tucson to play for the legendary coach.
